Military Members Information

Ohio's National Guard and Reserve military presence hovers between 25,000 and 30,000 uniformed military members. The Largest group is the Ohio Army National Guard, followed by the United States Army Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserves, and Navy and Coast Guard Reserve organizations. The standing distinction between the National Guard And Reserve military organizations is that the Ohio National Guard works form the State of Ohio with their Commander in Chief as the Ohio Governor under state call up events for emergency response. The Reserve organizations primarily answer to their federal chain-of-command and prepare for and operate primarily as reserves to their respective Active Duty services. The Ohio Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) supports all the uniformed services in matters of employer-employee Relations and often will blend the programs of the ESGR to include the different services in employer-related activities.
